The Merino Layer System
When it comes to staying warm on the mountain, comfort starts next to your skin. Your shell is only as good as the layers underneath, so we’ve put together a comprehensive Merino Layer System built to move, breathe, and keep your microclimate dialled. Without the bulk, and without the synthetic stink.
MERINO BASE LAYERS
Step one: Base Layers
The most important layer starts next to skin. That’s where Merino works best, pulling moisture away from your skin when the ride heats up and releasing it to keep your temperature regulated. We’ve got Merino base layers for whatever the weather brings: start with Cascade as your daily driver, then level up to Olympus when the weather turns and Ascender for the coldest days.
MERINO MID LAYERS
Step two: Mid Layers
Once your base layer is sorted, layer up with a Merino mid layer for added warmth. Engineered for lightweight, breathable warmth that fits just as easily into your pack as it does under your outerwear, our Merino mid layers are purpose built to trap heat, regulate your temp, and keep your kit light. Think Merino warmth that doesn’t weigh you down.
Merino Active Insulation
Step three: Active insulation
Cold days, windy chairlifts or icy starts? Our active insulation layers are made for movement, designed to throw over your mid layers for mountain missions. Wool is a great insulator, regulating your temperature and keeping you warm even when wet. Forget down that clumps or synthetics that get sweaty - Merino insulation traps heat, breathes when you’re moving, and manages moisture at each layer.
MERINO HEADWEAR
Step four: Neckwear and Accessories
Heads, hands, feet and face. The zones where you lose warmth first and that make the quickest difference to your day. Finish off your Merino Layer System with Merino beanies, balaclavas, neckwear and gloves: all the accessories you need to stay warm and dry on the mountain. And if you need convincing, here’s 7 reasons your neckwear should be Merino.
SEAL THE DEAL
Step five: The Shell
Once your Merino Layer System is dialled from base to face, seal the deal with a waterproof shell that keeps out wind, snow and spray from the twin tips in front of you. If you run cold, you’ll want an insulated shell. Look for high waterproof ratings, pit zips, helmet-friendly hoods, sealed seams and durable fabrics. Then go get ‘em, tiger. You’re mountain ready.

Transparency
We’re trying not to f*ck the planet. Here’s how we’re doing that, and what we’re working on to ensure quality, transparency, and better quality standards across our growers, supply chain and production line.
Our Story
Sometime back in the early noughties, a storm-chasing Kiwi living out of a ski bag realised his gear wasn't cutting it for both mountain missions and post-shred hangs. And here we are, almost two decades later.
Merino Performance
Merino Wool is at the centre of everything we do. It's nature's performance fibre. Merino keeps you cool when it's hot, warm when it's not, and smelling fresh from first chair to last round.
